It's important to set the right expectations. Sometimes a window cleaning won't fix issues with your windows. Here's 3 common examples below
"Hard Water": This is commonly caused by allowing tap water to rest on the windows either with sprinklers, water hose, or even pressure washing the windows. This calcium build up won't come off even with razor blades or steel wool. You will need special chemicals, and we do offer that service but won't guarantee it to be 100% perfect because it really depends how long it's been on there and what caused it.
2. Blown Seal: In the picture below both windows were cleaned the same way, but the one of the left has a blown seal. The just means the rubber seal is allowing moisture in-between the panes, and no matter how many times you clean it the window will look like this. It's still a good idea to clean it for health reasons, but don't expect it to be cosmetically pleasing.
3. Low-E failure: this type of tint/film that's located between the panes can fail over time or some may say it faded. In the early stages it may look a little bit purple or even spotty, but you may not really notice until it starts looking like this picture below...
Of course these three really common issues doesn't cover every possible situation. We've also seen previously scratched windows where removing the dirt now reveals old scratches. A lot of this is briefly covered in our service agreement that we email with every estimate because we believe educating people and setting the right expectations ahead of time is important. No window cleaning will ever be perfect, and a lot of times we are cleaning windows that already have issues to deal with.
